YouTube might join the NFT craze for its video creators!

YouTube might be coming into NFTs very soon. This would be done to facilitate video creators to capitalize their NFTs.


Susan Wojcicki, the CEO of YouTube, in a letter on the company's 2022 priorities, wrote, "We're always focused on expanding the YouTube ecosystem to help creators capitalize on emerging technologies, including things like NFTs, while continuing to strengthen and enhance the experiences creators and fans have on YouTube."


When questioned on the same topic, a spokesperson of Alphabet declined to make any comment regarding NFTs and their future potential integration with YouTube.


YouTube is not the only company going into the NFT business. The short video app TikTok announced an NFT collection which was designed by some of its top creators. Twitter also jumped into the craze, allowing users to present their NFTs in the form of hexagonal profile pictures.


This craze of NFTs isn't just limited to YouTube alone. Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) seem to have exploded in popularity in the past year. Everything from selfies to a monkey face picture is being sold for ridiculously high prices!


But NFTs are also massively creator-friendly. The ownership for NFTs exists on the famous Blockchain technology, while the art is hosted on the world wide web. This is the reason why creators have been going more and more towards NFTs since their surge in popularity.
