WhatsApp has recently launched its new multi-device feature which is currently in Beta. So let us see what is this multi-device beta feature and how can it can be joined.
What is Multi-device beta?
If you have ever used WhatsApp web in the past or downloaded the WhatsApp desktop app on your PC, you might know that to use WhatsApp on your PC, you have to keep your phone online all the time. If your phone goes offline or runs low on battery, you automatically get disconnected from WhatsApp Web too. So basically your phone acts as a pivot in your WhatsApp Ecosystem. If it goes offline, the whole WhatsApp web also comes crumbling down. WhatsApp Web remains disconnected till your phone comes back online.
Well, now this will not be the case. With the multi-device beta feature, you can log in to up to 4 devices with your WhatsApp account. And the most important thing is that you are no longer bound to your phone! Well, at least not as much as you used to be. You still have to connect one phone with your WhatsApp account, which will be considered as the main device. If that phone remains disconnected for over 14 days, then all your linked devices will also get disconnected automatically after 14 days.
