Google has recently started testing a new dark theme for Google searches. This theme is more black, almost pitch black in comparison to the dark theme Google uses today, which has more of a grey tone than black.
The search engine giant has started to roll out this new theme as part of an A/B test. This means that it will be available only to some random users and not everyone as of now.
Dark mode has many benefits when compared to light mode. It reduces eye strain, is more pleasant to look at (though this might be more opinion-oriented), etc. The dark mode is especially very good when it comes to smartphones or PCs with an AMOLED display, which really brings out the dark mode to life!
Google, like every other recent company, took notice of the benefits of dark mode and started implementing dark mode to its searches in early 2021, till it was finally released for everyone in September 2021.
It is being hoped that this new dark theme will soon be available to more and more people and would ultimately replace the current dark theme in Google searches if all goes well.
