The popular messaging app WhatsApp has recently launched a new page in its FAQ section. This new page is dedicated to India and is called "Safety in India".
This page informs us regarding all the privacy and security features that WhatsApp provides to its users to ensure that they are safe and secure online.
The page begins with WhatsApp giving itself a pat on the back for how it keeps the privacy of its 400 million Indian users on the top of the priority list.
It further goes on to praise itself regarding the end-to-end encryption feature which is enabled for messages, WhatsApp voice calls, group voice calls, video calls, and even group video calls.
The page then explains various features of WhatsApp such as "forward limits", a continuous checking on viral messages, locking WhatsApp through Touch or Face ID in iPhones, and fingerprints in Android devices, the "block and report" feature, "view once" feature, etc.
The page then goes on to tell us about the "Grievance Officer" appointed in India and how to contact the grievance officer through various means. It also says that WhatsApp releases a monthly report in India on how it is keeping its users safe and private.
The article then informs its users about the various ways in which they can tackle fake news and do fact-checking themselves, to separate the real from the fake.
