Conventional cars derive power from fuel combustion. But, today, EVs (electric vehicles) use batteries as storage power storage devices. In the early days, batteries had low energy (capacity) density than hydrocarbons. Due to this, EVs were less and of low mechanical capability.
Gradual development in battery technologies allowed the many EV ranges to get within acceptable levels compared to petrol-burning vehicles. It gets understood that the up-gradation of battery storage tech was among the prime technical issues which got rectified before starting the current EV revolution.
There are vast improvements in the battery sector. Today users of EVs face difficulties like slow charging speed. Currently, EVs take 10 hours to get fully charged. The fastest supercharger at the charging spots took up to forty minutes to fully charge an EV. It adds additional value and inconvenience to the users.
To solve such problems, researchers searched for solutions in the field of quantum physics. They led to the discovery of quantum technologies that promise new ways to charge batteries faster. A concept got first proposed in a journal (paper) published in 2012.
It was then theorized and concluded that quantum materials. Like, entanglement may get used vastly to fast forward the charging process of the installed battery by charging all small cells inside the battery (simultaneously).
