The new Document Preview feature is being tested with Android beta users and will make it easier for users to see what document is being shared. The feature will be similar to how a user can already preview the content of the shared links, a feature that was introduced last year.

Recently a new WhatsApp feature has been spotted by WABetaInfo. The Document Preview is being tested as part of WhatsApp’s beta version, 2.22.5.11. When a user shares an image or video in the form of a document, the receiver will be able to get a preview of the documents
When a user shares images and videos in the form of a document, the receiver will get a sneak peek at what’s in the document. The current version will show a slightly pixelated preview, and we hope it will get better once it reaches the stable version of WhatsApp. At present, a shared document only showcases the document type and its name for general users
This new feature will allow for easier sharing with photos and videos of documents. This is also similar to how users can see the preview of a PDF file on the Meta-owned messaging platform. The new feature is currently reaching a few beta testers and is expected to be available soon. Although, the exact time is unknown.
