What are the New and Upcoming Features in Google's Android 13?

Google has recently announced its 13th Android update. It would be available for download on Pixel 4 and above models. Android 13 has been named "Tiramisu." As per Google, the Android 13 update will mainly focus on privacy and online security. Android 13 will come with many new features like a system photo picker.

Currently, the Android 13 Preview is only open for the android developers to work accordingly on their apps.

Android 13 will improve the user experience and upgrade the security features. It will also come with a new system photo picker allowing the users to share selected media on apps and keep personal data heavily protected.

Android 13 enables applications to discover and connect surrounding devices over Wi-Fi (without accessing the user's location). Android 13 will also include a Jetpack library for a better storage experience. Quick Settings API would improve the active Settings tiles and the first developer preview.

Developers' previews may get unstable and are not the same as beta updates. The theming options will also get upgraded. Currently, the new update is not bringing any significant visual changes.

There are many system changes to handle various permissions and security. Any new feature is not exclusively for Android 13, as Google plans to bring the same to all its Android 11 phones. There are also many backend changes like enhancing the multi-language support.

Google will release more developer previews in February and March and start working on beta updates. Users can expect a stable update around June or July, although it will take a very long time for Android 13 to get launched for phones.
