Today we are going to give you an in depth journey to the same!
Only Download from reputed sources -
Most of you probably know of this simple thing. Never ever download an app not from Play or App Store. If you have to do so, make sure that you trust the company whose app you are downloading. Watch the reviews of even the apps from Play and app store before downloading them.
UNINSTALL any ANTIVIRUS app immediately -
Yes, your android or iPhone has no need of an antivirus. It is pretty well secure till someone aims to destroy it specifically. Even in that case, having an antivirus will NOT protect you.
It will do only one thing - MAKE YOUR PHONE SLOW AND EAT EATS RESOURCES.
NEVER ENTER ANY SENSITIVE INFORMATION ON INSECURE WEBSITES -
This one is simple. Only trust the websites with your sensitive information who have a LOCK sign on the address bar. The lock sign means HTTPS encryption, which is a secure connection. The one with an 'i' symbol in a circle or an 'i' symbol in a triangle are no goes. DO NOT ENTER ANY SENSITIVE INFO like BANKING DETAILS on them and even avoid visiting those websites as much as possible.
SET UP "TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION" -
Now this is one of the most important ways to secure your google account, or any account for the matter. Two factor authentication is an excellent method to protect your accounts from hackers. So what is it?
Two Factor authentication gives your device an additional layer of security. Let us understand this by taking example of your Google account. So you have a Google account. If you do NOT have Two Factor Authentication turned on and some hacker or scammer gets to know your password, he or she can easily get inside your Google account and do whatever he or she likes. It will be pretty tough for you to recover your account.
With Two Factor Authentication turned on, you can be relaxed that your password alone is not going to be enough for someone to Log in to your account. It means that other than your password, your phone would also be required. A pin would be sent to your phone without which you can't login to your account. Or you can even set it up so that apart from your password, your biometrics is required to log in to your account. Or even a physical KEY!!!!! Now how cool is that! So how to set up TFA?
Open your Browser
Go to your Google account
Click on Security Tab
Scroll down and turn on Two Factor Authentication and fill in all the details!
Now you are Ready to Rock!
