It's that time of the year when we spend a big part of our time with families and friends. We celebrate, play games and do a lot of fun together. But, what is a better way to have fun than watching a movie.
Watching movies at home with friends and family always turn out to be a great experience. The memories we make are of fun, lots of laughs (a group can't watch a movie without making fun of characters) and so many things more.
So, here's our list of movies that you should watch this holiday season.
The Holiday (2006)
Starring Jude Law, Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet, The Holiday proves to be one of the most famous romantic holiday movies. The plot of the movie follows two girls from two different countries who swap their homes to get away from relationship woes. But little did they know that they would fall in love again. In the last fifteen years, since its release, it became a classic and a must-watch.
Minnal Murali (2021)
It is a comedy-action movie that follows Jaison as he becomes a superhero after getting struck by lightning. Minnal Murali is not a typical superhero and nowhere close to Marvel or DC movies. But, it has its own uniqueness. It depicts the Indian village life with such vividness and humour that you'd be laughing through the movie. It is available on Netflix.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
I know it's time for Spider-Man: No Way Home but if you have already watched it but still want to watch our high-schooler superhero then Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse should be your stop. It is an animated movie but it has all the fun and seriousness of a spidey movie. But unlike all the previous spider-man movies, we follow Miles Morales instead of Peter Parker. And, this one has awesome songs, including one from Post Malone.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019)
Based in the Pokéman universe, we get to see our favourite Pokéman as a detective. Tim Goodman, a 21-year-old boy, teams up with Pikachu to solve the mystery behind his father's death. It is a fun movie to watch though beware that some scenes may make you emotional and teary-eyed.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence and Meryl Streep star in this scientific satire on the political system. Released on Christmas eve on Netflix, it is a must-watch for everyone. It follows Kate Dibiasky and Dr Mindy as they try to convince the president to take an upcoming comet seriously, And, to prevent the comet from hitting Earth. It, ingeniously, shows the politics behind making decisions and how some endangers everyone for their self-gain.
These were some movies that you should check out during this holiday season. Have a great year ahead!!
