Coronavirus causes many symptoms also many severe problems to the people, especially on lungs -like breathlessness, pneumonia and more but did you know that it also has a long term effect on the lungs even after the person gets cured by the disease?
Cellular factories for viruses
We all know viruses want factories for themselves and those factories are present inside your body. In case of coronavirus, it is the lung cells. In this case, the lung cells on the surface and the ciliated cells are more prone to the pathogen. After infecting the cells, the virus starts dividing and in one to two days, the virus changes from thousands to millions!

Effects on the Lungs
COVID-19 causes pneumonia which leads to fluid being filled inside the lungs. But it also causes symptoms like lung fibrosis which affects individuals for a longer time. The Coronavirus enters the cells via 'Angiotensinogens-converting-enzymes2' which connects the inner cell to the outside world through the cell membrane. Different people have a different immune response but in some people, as the coronavirus enters the cell through this receptor, the body starts an intense immune response known as 'Cytokine storm' with increases blotting clotting which leads to lung fibrosis. Although we don't have very much idea about fibrosis but we have some experiences from SARS and MERS patients. They also had fibrosis, during which the lung cells divide and form new cells which take time up to 6 months.
At last, we request to all of you to take all precautionary measures tp protect yourselves and others from coronavirus so that you all guys don't have to suffer from these.
